Every provider listing on MedVacay starts from public records. Before a listing carries a Verified badge, we check the provider’s credentials ourselves, date the check, and keep the evidence on file.
Verified · — what the badge on a profile means:
- Cédula profesional confirmed against the federal registry
- Board certification checked where claimed, with its expiry date
- The date of the most recent check, always shown
Nothing else can produce it — not a plan, not a payment, not anything a billing system can write.
What we actually check
The cédula profesional
The federal professional license issued through Mexico’s Secretaría de Educación Pública. We confirm the license number against the public registry and record when the check was made. This is the core check — no listing goes live without a passing one.
Patients can run the same lookup themselves; the registry is public.
Board certification (consejo)
Where a provider states a board certification, we check it with the issuing consejo — including its expiry date. A lapsed certification drops the claim from the profile until it is renewed and re-checked.
Evidence stays on file with the verification date.
Verification and payment never touch
Providers pay MedVacay for placement in results, and that is disclosed wherever ranked results appear. Payment never affects verification: a paying provider whose checks have not passed shows no badge, and a provider who pays nothing keeps their badge as long as their checks stand.
