El Ángel is where the city celebrates: raised in 1910 for the centennial of independence, gilded Victory on a marble column, and mobbed joyfully every time the national team wins. The rest of the time it anchors the postcard stretch of Reforma, ringed by glass towers.
Treat it as the centerpiece of a Reforma promenade — from the Diana fountain past the Angel toward the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan — rather than a destination in itself, and it delivers the city’s grandest free walk.
Getting there
On Paseo de la Reforma at the edge of Juárez and Zona Rosa — most trips between Polanco and the Centro pass it. Reachable on foot from Juárez and Roma Norte hotels.
If you are recovering
A drive-past or a short flat stroll, whichever the day allows. On Sunday mornings Reforma itself closes to traffic, and the boulevard becomes the city's easiest long walk — level, wide, and full of company, with the Angel as the natural turnaround point.
