All-on-6

All-on-6 replaces a full arch of teeth with a fixed bridge supported by six implants rather than four. The extra implants spread chewing forces across more of the jaw, which can suit larger jaws or heavier bites; the sequence is otherwise similar — surgery, a provisional bridge, then the final bridge after healing.

It is typically considered by the same patients who look at All-on-4: most or all teeth in an arch missing or failing, and a fixed result preferred over a denture. Six implants require adequate bone in more of the jaw, so imaging determines whether four or six posts fit a particular anatomy.

Useful questions for a provider: why they would place six implants rather than four in your case, what the scan shows about your bone, how the visits are spaced for a traveling patient, and what the plan is if one implant does not integrate.
